Global Mesh 3D Analysis Data Visualization Tool (L4B)

The tool can display a time-series animation of three-dimensional distribution of CO2 and CH4 on a global mesh image. It also provides the graph of data for specific POI or AOI, with the function to switch to different pressure levels for display.

Features

Automatic color coding of GOSAT data to be used

When displaying GOSAT data on a map, it is shown in grayscale with the default settings in QGIS. By assigning appropriate colors to match the analysis values for each scene, the data becomes easier to recognize visually. However, this process requires individual settings for each dataset, which can be time-consuming. By using this tool, you can apply color classification to multiple datasets at once.

Graphical display of GOSAT time-series data

The data observed by GOSAT, such as CO2 and CH4 concentrations, can be used to investigate changes in greenhouse gases on the Earth by analyzing their variations over time. For example, if you prepare global 3D CO2 concentration distribution data on a monthly basis for one certain year and specify a POI on the map, you can display a time-series graph showing changes in the monthly analysis values for that location over the year.
Displaying multiple years of data in a time series also enables you to provide the graph of long-term changes in greenhouse gas concentrations.
If you select an AOI, the tool can automatically calculate the average value within that range and visualize it in a graph. Additionally, you can examine time-series changes in analysis values by switching between one atmospheric layer to another from the Earth’s surface to the top of the atmosphere.

Animated display of images in chronological order

Multiple selected global 3D concentration distributions can be played as an animation on a QGIS map. This enables you to visually recognize time-series changes in global 3D concentration distributions.
