Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Interference Processing Tool "TelluSAR" has been updated.

News

Thank you for your continued support for "Tellus".

The data from ASNARO-2 is now available in "TelluSAR", a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometric processing tool that allows us to understand ground deformation using satellite images from 2 periods.

ASNARO-2 is the 2nd model of the "Advanced Satellite with New System Architecture for Observation (ASNARO)" project by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and NEC Corporation (NEC), Japan is in charge of its development and operation.

The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) onboard ASNARO-2 uses the X-band wavelength band and has a high resolution of 1 to 2 meters, which is generally considered to be suitable for viewing man-made objects.

On the other hand, PALSAR-2, which has been available for "TelluSAR" since the beginning, is in the L-band wavelength range with a resolution of 3 to 14 meters, which is coarser than ASNARO-2; however, the wavelength is longer than that of the X-band and can penetrate through leaves and branches of trees, so it is generally said to be suitable for studying a wide area close to the ground surface.
